The Changing Operating Environment in Europe -- Environmental Trading Schemes and MRV Are Here Now
Environmental Trading Schemes (ETS) in Europe are now law, and will come into effect in 2012. If you are a private (non-commercial) operator coming to or operating in Europe, you will be required to monitor, verify and report your emissions and buy the necessary off-set credits - no matter how little you fly. Larger commercial operators emitting 10,000 tons of CO2 or more will also have to participate. Learn the latest news and what you will be legally required to do beginning in August of this year - or face possible penalties!
